World Peace

One Heart at a Time.
One Heart at a Time.

Detente we don’t need suffusing the atmosphere with hot air

More stalwart troops advancing on tiny villages with tiny children

Mothers grabbing tightly at their sons and daughters hoping

I’ve given my husband and now you egregiously seek my lair

Soldiers with hollow eyes from a government that limitedly seeks

Power over amassing product and shares on the stock market

More concerned with our women’s thigh size than the hollowed eyes

Of children whose souls burned by violence gripping, trapping beaks

World peace is only an option for the sincere hearts that are fair

Who practice peace within their very hearts every single day totally

Kindnesses given spontaneously and arising from the heart’s depths

Focusing on our fellow world citizens without regard for station or care

Giving ourselves completely as God replenishes our love in lows and peaks

Straining , chafing against the self, the Easing God Out of our policies, laws

Ignoring the depth of suffering occurring in varied lands, others we arm gruelingly

Love is overdue there will be a price but well worth the effort despite the horrible leaks

Commencing now commit we must to one world, one people, there is one God I declare

Starting small is completely justifiable but start we certainly must ere it’s too late

Care no more for what you own or your title, prestige, glory, or the company kept

Open up your soul and let the love flow from the profoundest depths God does share

A record I am sure is kept, the smallest kindnesses are what we must vigilently seek

Teaching our wee ones to have loving and tender hearts in the face of all pain

Train them up to pray everyday to the God that created and loves each one for sure

This surely is our answer our system needs love to straighten out the mess with of this I speak.

World Peace, Please!?

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.
