What is a stream of consciousness

I ask myself today

A stream is a small river flowing

Ever flowing to the sea

Consciousness is being awake or aware

So a flowing of awareness

That’s what it means to me

What am I aware of today

I am aware of God and His creatures

That river flows in me constantly

I am aware of those around me

In a friendly kind of way

I am conscious of my body

With it’s varying moods

When it needs air, water or food

Right this minute I’m aware of the

Blog 101 and writing 101

Happening tomorrow

UGH

In response to a prompt from writing 101.

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.

  1. “So a flowing of awareness” – how beautiful Carol. Your writing is always beautiful, but seems to be evolving – changing into an even more beautiful language. This was truly beautiful – a lovely way to end my evening. In a different way – I too was thinking of consciousness today into the night. The word flowing that you chose was ideal. ❤ "Sweet Carol" … that's who you are. ❤
