Pain makes walls

Between lovers and friends

Pain makes wars

Between Nations and peoples

Pain makes rips

In the fabric of society

Pain makes addictions

In the young and old

Pain makes riffs

In the Mother’s skin

Pain makes distance

From God

Bridges make unity

Between lovers and friends

Bridges make peace

Between Nations and peoples

Bridges weave

The fabric of society

Bridges bring recovery

To the young and old

Bridges heal the riffs

In the Mother’s skin

Bridges bring closeness

To God.

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.

  1. If only we could bottle this and get everyone to drink of the loving cup of unity among peoples, nations and neighbors! Loved this, I have written only one ‘bridges’ post, mainly on passing on into Heaven. It is able to be accessed by pressing the word ‘bridges’ or ‘bridge’ not sure if I remember which one, it was a fun and meaningful post I wrote… Yours was very meaningful with a powerful message of love and hope!
