Sorrow-laden rutted roads
Lined with too many memories
No escaping what has been
Far too many heavy loads
~
Seeking the sweet release
Tender shoots of new growth
Overshadowed by the weeds
Hoping to find some kind of peace
~
As it winds along it’s set path
Not really knowing what is next
Must take risks and let all go
Maybe someday I will laugh
