The candle weeps away its life giving light
I am praying to be as the candle
My days, like the wax spent serving Thee
Eagerly burning away my veils in time

The Assignment:
To write an Acrostic using simile about a gift or gifts. I’m not happy with my similes but I hope you enjoy! ❤
This poem is our mission on earth, and my soul is in resonance with the words you’ve written. You’ve raised so much emotion with so few words…well done.!!!

I like this, the symbolism of the candle burning. I always burn candles and will probably look at them differently from now on.

This poem of yours is actually pretty profound. The message could be read several ways. Candles, light, bright, snuffed out. Very good analogies. You’re a gem.Carol. and I truly mean that.

It spoke to Me. Your writings are on my wavelength. Not everyone who writes, manages to speak to Me like that. I love poetry that’s sincere, truthful and descriptive. I suppose that’s the same kind of people I like

Beautiful! I love how you have used the burning candle as a symbol of passing time. May we all use what time we have well, in eager service to God. Peace, Linda

How very lovely! Wonderful flow! (I do wonder if you meant to use “its” (possessive) rather than “it’s” (it is). I also quite appreciate the message of you poem. Thank you!

I think it’s a great simile, actually. It pulls both halves of the poem together, too. Nicely done!
