Defining Layers~Writing 201

The Many Skins I'm In

The many varied skins in which I traverse this diverse earth carry me well if I would but honor them. The joy of feeling comfortable simply portraying the “me” that could be seen by all. Traveling around the many countries with respect for the different skins I see but mostly interested in what is beneath, beyond this sheath of human papyrus. The heat of the love of all mankind generated by honoring our stories each. When I accept the true soul that I am then I can recognize all my relations everywhere.

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.

      1. I don’t think You struggled, the words just mean a lot to You, so you had to think carefully what you were putting. It takes real spiritual growth to be able to see the world in such an open way. You’ve grown spiritually. Marvellous really, means you’ve not wasted your life as many do
