The rushing Rio Grande on her way to her mother the sea
Peaceful souls abiding in their birdhouse villages in tranquility
Heavenly scented cotton balls of sagebrush line the way
Pinon vanguards carry the jewels of the desert each day
Aromas from the Kivas are an invitation to sit and rest
To see the two strand necklace of a double rainbow is best
Arriving at the Mecca within the most ancient Pueblo’s home
Hearing the heartbeat of the Natives in their rhythmic drums
Crying out the holiest of chants as they whirl and dance
Calling the Ancestors to guide them and help them advance

Oh thank you very much. Do you ever feel hesitant to put your work out there? ❤

My pleasure!
I am not a poet and joined the course to learn about that, so I don’t mind because I have no pre-defined performance standards. Learning is the most important.

remember the chalupas? the ristras? let’s not forget about the taos hum, or taos pueblo, or the pueblo dances and pow-wows, or me taking a whiz off the rio grande gorge bridge. most of all, it was where Jason was born, where you were conceived (n.m.). ;-D
