Misgivings as to our oneness
The oneness of our misgivings
Is it our purpose to be one
Is it our one purpose
The law of God says we are united
United we are in the law of God
Aiming to be connected in our diversity
Our diversity aiming to connect us
The ultimate reality that we are one.
We are in the ultimate reality, one.
Our faces attest to this truth
This truth attests in our faces
Especially seen in the children
The children are especially seen

The Prompt:
Faces
The Form:
Found Poetry
“Remember that staple of kindergarden arts, the collage? Found poetry, today’s optional form, is the language-based variety. Like a blackmail letter in a sordid crime novel, a found poem is made up of words and letters others have created. It’s up to you, the poet, to find them (hence the name), extract them, and rejig them into something else: your poem.”
The Device:
Chiasmus
“…chiasmus is essentially a reversal, an inverted crossing (it got its name from the greek letter chi – X). How can we use it? Let Snoop Dogg show us the way:
‘Laid back, with my mind on my money and my money on my mind'”
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
This is so well done and so beautiful, Carol. I haven’t yet done mine but yours is so inspiring that I may find my way out. Thanks!

what a pretty picture!! and to do a poem in this challenging format…sort of a verbal Rubik’s cube…and the number of comments…is this a record for you?

I had not heard of Chiasmus. This is very well-crafted, though, and shows the difference between those of you who are professionals, and folks like me, who tread poetic water.

Thank you however, I am not professional. 🙂 Makes me feel good though that you said that! 🙂
