Flower Garden
Flower Garden

Mankind is God’s flower garden

Seeing varied and pleasant hues

Must not let our pure hearts harden

Let us walk miles in neighbor’s shoes

Give to the souls, respect their views

A trust with which we can endow

Regardless of our own issues

Celebrate diversity now

“Today is the day we put the “mini’ back into the Sunday Mini-Challenge, and return to the option of form poetry. The object of this challenge is to write a poem in no more than 10 lines (but you may write in fewer than 10 lines all the way down to a single American sentence). You may choose your own form or stick to free verse, if preferred. For those who would like a bit of guidance, or further choice, I have provided a link to Poets Garret, showing a variety of 8 line poems.

The subject matter for your poem is wide open, but bear in mind the ‘Eye of the Beholder’ angle. I look forward to reading a number of short poems, from Saturday through to Monday.”~Kerry O’Connor

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.
