My heart lies with the quiet ones
I hear their sighs with each new sun
~
Striving to survive is the creed
No alibis found from the sun
~
Their souls are free and alive
The eyes filled with light of the sun
~
When I arrive much shall be learned
They are as wise as aged sun
~
Yet they live and thrive every day
My heart hears cries under the sun

“My heart hears cries under the sun” this line really struck me. It made me shiver. It’s such a beautiful closing for a poignant poem.
