Serene sunset on the mystic shore
Before the velvet darkness descends
Sends my soul to a sacred, safe place
Space to breathe with the flowing sea
Be with the sacred of the splendid creation
Frustration that gripped me falls away
May all experience this beatific scene
Serene sunset on the mystic shore

Circular poem are so difficult to get right, and you did really well. I especially like it when the rhymes are not perfect but slanted… I also like that the last line is different from the first one. The interesting thing about line repetitions is that if you manage well the meaning will shift slightly after having read the poem… (I see a poetic challenge coming up).

Somehow when we witness sunrise or set, we plug into the great wheel of experience, & we feel that whatever our situation, we can understand where/how we fit in. I prefer rebirth, sunrise to set, for me there is always a tinge of melancholy as the darkness descends.

One can’t help but feel the serenity of being after witnessing a sunset. It is such a fulfilment that helps discard all the frustrations and worries there and then. Very true Carol!
