My life moves in loops and spirals
Seemingly going back and reversing
In reality transforming and changing
~
There is not just on peak I seek
But many depending on my mood
My life moves in loops and spirals
~
You may think I am surely failing
In reality, I am simply sailing free
Seemingly going back and reversing
~
Like our grand galaxy is ever traveling
Obstacles only add to my momentum
In reality, transforming and changing

I, too, am attracted to spirals. I love the line, “In reality, transforming and changing.” I still love this poetic form. You use it so well to take a concept and provide concrete examples with enough ambiguity to allow for a custom interpretation. Thank you for this thought-provoking read this morning.

I don’t mind traveling in spirals, as long as I’m spiralling upwards. 🙂

a splendid meditation, expressing the more fuller experience of our journeys than that of, say, “a path.” It does remind me of the notion within chaos theory about the phenomenon of infinite trajectory within a finite space, which is also combined with infinite possibilities of unfolding outcomes. Such is life and living.

spirals can be deceiving. looking at things in this world like the orbits of the planets as if that’s a true model in 2d. in reality, they are 3d spirals, bodies spiraling around the sun which itself is spiraling around the center of our galaxy the milky way.

Another thought came to me about the similarity of the spiral and the mathematical notion of pathological curves.
Pathological curves — A mathematical curve is said to be pathological if it lacks certain properties of continuous curves. For example, its tangent may be undefined at some—or indeed any—point; the curve may enclose a finite area but be infinite in length; or its curvature may be undefinable… Their idiosyncrasies constitute paradoxes rather than optical illusions or fallacies.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by the spiral arms of this galaxy, by the vastness in which we are but motes. Sorry for taking so long to reply – work called – but I’m glad you added your voice ~ M
