Fairies, sprinkles

Blessing, dancing, charming

Sparkle, hopeful, ignorance, loss

Picture Prompt and,

“As the season and year wraps up, let us consider playing in fairy dust – for it is the time of year when we chase the light – and perhaps, dare to dream – if we allow ourselves to go beyond the “I resolve to” ….

Change is in the air … feel the current’s swirl, the whisper of possibilities”~Pat

I chose the Diamonte form. This highlights something by comparing opposites which is how I feel about the passage of time. It’s my choice whether I see the magic in life or the darkness. I choose the magic!

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.

  1. thanks for sharing your response to the challenge Carol 🙂

the form is well done and equally suited – and for as delightful and magical as fairies are – for as much as we may dare to dream – the “wisened one” knows that for all things – there is inherent “dark and light” – neither can exist without the other – and so it is – indeed – choice – how to perceive, reflect and act on what is opportunity made or chance delivered.

and once again, Happy 2016 to you Carol 🙂

  2. I like the sudden change from light to dark, somewhat. I think of fairies as little angels, mischevious little kid spirits full of life. what a contrast.
