Angels’ hands will greet me in love
In that sacred land not really above
My head will be bowed with trepidation
Haven’t always lived on a firm foundation
~
My feelings have been too deep
Into me insecurities often creep
Angels will tell me that I am love
Always have been from up above
~
“Me, I’m gonna go out dancin'”
Leave this word simply prancin’
Can’t say much but that I tried
When I journey to the other side

“This week, since it’s what I’ve been playing around with, I’m throwing the challenge out to choose a favourite line, of a song, a poem, a play or a novel, and let it inspire you. You can change it, transform it or reproduce it in any poetic form you like.” Jane Dougherty

wow. This is phenomenal! The first stanza speaks to the heart of everyone and uses our collective voice of insecurity and fear of the unknown. 🙂

I like the idea of going out dancing…full of life until the end and accepted with love when we crossover. Beautifully stated, Carol. Since you linked this to dVerse, it would be nice to see a link from here to dVerse also.

As I am often inspired by song to write, I really enjoyed this piece. Glad you linked up at dVerse, as well. (Don’t forget to include a link, so others have access to all the great poems this week!)

I love and relate to the idea of exiting this life while still dancing. As a nurse, I dealt with too many families who preferred to tie down their relative over risking they could hurt themselves. For me, put on the music, please.

Live doing what you love- and die the same way, at least I hope to, when that moment comes.
