Little did he know that she was a fairy princess. He certainly was no prince just a guy trying to find his true love. Someone with whom he could share this life and the next. In hindsight, he guessed that he had come on too strong. Preoccupation was not the accurate word. More like obsession. Emotions ran high for him and sometimes he went overboard. The last thing he remembered saying was, “I’ll die without you”. Then his body hardened and his ability to move was gone. He was in that same position where he had been begging. Hands clasped and eyes beseeching.
“Oh my, will I be like this forever?”. he said to himself painfully. After several moments, he began to calm down. He could still see her. At least, she wasn’t leaving him like that. Sadness and remorse slowly wrapped themselves around his heart. They clutched at it like a vise. The understanding of how disrespectful he had been dawned and if his tear ducts hadn’t been stiff, he would have cried. No one wants to be treated like that. Love warmed him in a way that included all human beings. The desire to give and not receive; to understand and not be understood. Knowledge of a divine sort was his. He was truly sorry.
Just then, he started feeling a soft sensation on the top pf his cheek. His hands flexed to reach and wipe it off. A tear. A cleansing droplet. Life returned to him slowly. Looking up, he saw her looking at him with a deep inner recognition. Soul to soul; heart to heart.
