Telling you in advance that I am leaving

Getting in my cherry car and driving away

Your turgescent head is too much for me

Must say, I am feeling quite buoyant

The ties we had are no longer binding

Cannot visualize how life would be

Doubt fills my heart in contemplation

Telling you in advance that I am leaving

I am Entering the arborescent highway

I cannot tolerate it even one more day

You have hijacked my life for the last time

Getting in my cherry car and driving away

You deceived me and you cheated too

Respected not my well-lit boundaries

Must keep the one tendril of self left me

Your turgescent head is too much for me

It won’t be easy to make the needed changes

To bring my strength back inside my heart

Here I come finding who I’m really meant to be

Must say, I am feeling quite buoyant

Wordle this week is:

Turgescence (becoming swollen)

Arborescent (tree-like in size and form)

I assure you that this is completely fictional! 😉

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.

  1. a series of powerful thoughts and feelings. it reminds me of a comment made by a friend of the late Jimi Hendrix. he said he believed Hendrix left this mortal realm to see what the other side was like. just another country road…..
