A single Gardenia bloomed today
On a lonely morning by the bay
~
I had watched it for days to see
If it granted more blooms to me
~
The fragrance of that one bloom
Sufficient to fill the living room
~
Filling the house with scents divine
A perfect space to relax and unwind
~
Perhaps tomorrow another will appear
Infusing its essences both far and near

Kerry leads us back to the Mini-challenge today asking us to write 10 poetic sentences. She offers us the freedom to choose our form and to play even with the length. Just so it’s mini! Thanks, Kerry!

The gardenia is one of my favourites. The perfume lingers, and I can imagine the wait for another bloom.

Sometimes even the bloom of ONE flower can lift one’s spirits, I think. It gives a person hope. And that is what we often need to know. Spring will come. Life be good. Flowers will continue to bloom!

This is probably like a watched pot never boiling. Maybe a watched flower never blooms. 🙂

Lovely, Carol. It reminds me of the orange hibiscus we have growing in our back yard. It was there when we moved here last fall and every day since it has produced two, three, or four pretty blooms. I had it on my other blog Friday, this picture was before we fertilized it: https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mx2b7omqTeQ/VsXd5Z2dJJI/AAAAAAAATWI/cwId720SanY/s1600/3-DSC02744.JPG

Lovely! A reason to leave that window open above the flower garden – I used to have one – loved to hear the bees buzzing on the other side of the screen…
