To Grey~Kyrielle sonnet

Collage #18
Writing Prompt #149~Collage #18

The world has gone to grey for me

Sounds everywhere are so muted

I think I will never be free

For this life, I am not suited

~

Two doors are slammed closed in my life

There is no plan instituted

The darkness has me recruited

For this life, I am not suited

~

Memories flood my aching head

Making my thoughts so polluted

Filling days wishing to be dead

For this life, I am not suited

~

The world has gone to grey for me

For this life, I am not suited

This is in response to two prompts at Mindloves Misery’s  site. One is Yves’ Writing Prompt #149~Collage #18 and Bastet’s B&P Shadorma and Beyond where Georgia asked us to write a Kyrielle Sonnet. Thanks to them both for challenging prompts!

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.

  1. Having a fit of English here. gone to grey as in gone to seed versus the very more often seen gone too grey… scratches his head for states of colour as a none versuswhat are the english parts anyways…I should complain you tax my poor brain so early in my day 😉 anyways happy phrases or should it be happy trails?
