Shaman

Healer Collab

Dandelion heads sway, let wishes fly.

Daisies drop petals, requests for help fall.

Grasses flatten spelling out messages.

~

Turning skyward to all my soulful friends,

Asking them how to bring healing to all.

Dandelion heads sway, let wishes fly.

~

A voice calls, “look within, where answers lie.”

Light blazes Inside, magic there to heal.

Daisies drop petals, requests for help fall.

~

Reaching for the Daisies hesitantly,

Knowing inside, the white petals will work.

Grasses flatten spelling out messages.

~

Pleas for help that I heed, the earth’s in need.

Some flaw, human-caused, destabilizes,

Causing the flora to cry out for aid.

~

Must rise to be the shaman that I am.

My heart is filled with many doubts and fears.

Pleas for help that I heed, the earth’s in need.

~

Quiet reigns, steals my breath–where are my friends?

In the buzzing of the bees I hear it–

Some flaw, human-caused, destabilizes–

My footsteps trample their way through the field.

My heart tuned to the voices of Mother–

Causing the flora to cry out for aid.

~

Whispers of my people’s pain interrupt,

The divine voice quiets–I turn to save,

Understanding how the solution’s made.

~

The clover and garlic call to me now.

Could this be one answer to our distress?

Whispers of my people’s pain interrupt.

~

I stand fast against the onslaught, purpose

In my poise, my hands held ready to heal.

The divine quiets–I turn to save.

~

In my home I shall mix the remedy–

Sacred processes make the cure so real–

Understanding how the solution’s made.

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.
