In April, I found compassion

Faced more than I could imagine

Searched deep within love to survive

In reality, I have thrived

So many deaths in the new Spring

Did not know all that month would bring

From pain and loss, peace I contrived

In reality, I have thrived

Now I focus on gratitude

Transforming my own attitude

Thankful for all I have derived

In reality, I have thrived
