Break my branches
saw me into bits
the birds will still sing in my roots
in the garden, the wind
makes my late father’s washed pants
move

Beautiful poppies, and a lovely verse from a small, but exquisite country.

and what drugs they bestow! Or do I have that wrong? Poppies are a powerful drug are they not?

Yes if processed. I believe it is opium.

Ah makes sense 🙂 Hey, I’m exploring the idea of giving oneself grace and space and wondered if you wanted to contribute a quote or poem on what that means to you. I’ll bet you have a wonderful outlook on it. I’m hoping we can all learn something from this or just buoy each other up 🙂

Sure. How do I participate?

Anyway you wish. You can comment on any of my grace and space posts or you can just reply here. If you want to do a poem, post it on your site and drop the link into a comment so I can find it. 🙂 Do mention in your post that you’re giving yourself grace and space. maybe one of your readers will take that idea to heart and stop their negative self-talk. 🙂

i love that, poppies sing their red dance. btw, i saw video of poppy plants in afghanistan used for opium. they had a large bulb which could be lanced or scraped for a white liquid which would be the base opium product.
