My back was moist from the dew touched grass as I lay searching the sky. I noticed that my breathing was steady and my pulse was calm. There above me was a cloud shaped like a bunny rabbit. “Oh, look! There is a heart!”, I said, talking to myself. The trees were like a frame to a majestic piece of art. One that offered visions of life that aided the young woman that I was. I rolled over with a huge smile on my face and promptly went to sleep under the cloud filled heavens. A day in paradise.

Oh I do love the prose… what a wonderful moment to fall asleep… but I think you might have forgotten the haiku part of the haibun

yes, exactly. now add your haiku and you have haibun. personally I like titles on haibun, however I don’t believe they are required.

As a child I watched clouds all the time and this post reminded me I need to do this more often. Just to lie in the grass and chill watching the clouds form into objects and such. Beautiful post, Carol!!! ❤

Well, I am so glad I got this in complete form! Titles for haibun, haiku, tanka are not necessary and in fact, unnecessary. But I loved this post of watching the clouds. I love to watch the clouds roll by. And such a perfect moment to go to sleep. What bliss!
