The red desert has a particularly rich fragrance that calls to me to walk. The rich hues vibrate as I ascend the craggy outcroppings steadily alternating between awe-inspiring views and concentration on my foot placement. The vast Southwestern sky sings a love song to me the sound of which echoes through the canyon walls. This is spirit in matter and it is my home. Hearing the scraping of boots against rock and then the subsequent clunk as the rock falls to the lower balustrade. My mind is sharp, my senses are vivified and I am truly aware.
