Teach them the truth
Truth of the feminine
Feminine power elevates
Elevates all humanity
Humanity needs strength
Strength of the masculine
Masculine gentleness
Gentleness honoring women
Women will bring peace
Peace will save all men
Men spring from boys
Boys must be taught kindness
Kindness will end the cycle of violence
Violence against women must end

“Breaking the cycle of violence
against women and girls. Stopping violence altogether.
Today, I am thinking of the ones who
don’t survive. Of the ones who do.
Of surviving huge violence and
violence others might perceive
as small. I want to write, but how
to take one event and emotion
from among so many that
stuff up our mouths?
Your challenge: Speak about survival so that others may listen. Write a new poem because that is what we do. “~Susan

You have written the heart of the matter – if boys are taught gentleness, and grow up to be strong and gentle men, the world will change. Spot on.

A gentleman in its true meaning and sense is rare in this world. Your poem expresses the importance of cultivating them. Women must be cherished for a peaceful world. Happy Thanksgiving !

Yes, I think it has to start with the young boys. If young boys grow up with feelings of respect for girls and women, it would go a long way, I think. We have to try. The world definitely has to try! The cycle of violence has to end.

if boys can respect women, they can learn to truly respect themselves. in a number of native cultures the power to declare war was given to councils of women.

Young boys learn through the observing process more than being told. If they see elder men folks treat their women well, young boys will turn out to be real gentlemen. Great lines Carol!

Yes, indeed, Carol. We break the cycle of violence by educating the young – both boys and girls. The real strong man is he who can control his strength and who does not prey on the weak…
