the trees stand close
sunlight filters through
the leaves dance
~
the trees stand close
a community system
life cycle renewed
~
sunlight filters through
rays kiss the forest floor
warmed mulch
~
the leaves dance
a magnificent tune plays
come dance with us
~
come dance with us
around the leave forest floor
as the sun slowly sets

Kerry is in the Garden and asks us to write poetry or prose in 55 words for Flash 55 Plus. She gave us the option of using a foreign word that has no direct translation in English save through description. I chose Komorebi which means, sunlight filters through the trees. I was liberally borrowing from haiku but varied it a little. For more interesting words go to:

Nice descriptive poem. The leaves dance is my favourite verse, especially in the fourth stanza.

beautiful–you could feel the invitation to “come dance with us” before it was tendered!

one feels the ancient communal connection between mother earth, father sun, and their children, the air and the water.
