I love the beach no matter what the weather. In fact, Winter is my favorite time on the coastline. The snow placed gently on the sand making a white and tan wonderland. That day I walked down to the shore with the intention of walking around. When I got there, I found a curious sight. It was a flock of seagulls having a conference on the snow. I peacefully stood there and wondered if it was harder for them to find the tender morsels buried deep in clam beds.

I like that image– seagull’s confab. It has military overtones and that’s just amusing

There is something special about the beach in winter, though I’ve never seen one with snow. A lovely haibun and what a breath-taking photo! Bravo!

What a lovely image you have shared with us today, Carol! I could hear that noisy squabble of a conference that made me smile and imagined myself on the shores in Maine. I would love to see the oceanside in winter some day.

For the longest time I only associated the beach or shore with good weather.
There is a magic that you aptly describe when winter enters the scene.
I wish I were close enough to be near an ocean – but my little creek will have to do.
