on the pier
the old farmer tells us
how to fish
as the tide ebbs
fishermen appear
on the sand
dusk lake
sinking into darkness
fishermen’s voices

our little friend enjoying the sun, the breeze, the water, and, if he’s lucky, maybe even the struggle of catching a fish or two. I hope mom or dad tells him how to clean the fish in order to, gulp, cook and then eat the catch. Many lessons.

So true this scene you describe in your haiga. My youngest son loves to fish and he can do that several days without speaking or something. It’s his way to meditate.
