The three sages of the Zoroastrian Faith had closed their eyes only for a moment. They needed their rest as they travelled in search of the Promised One. Resting in the chilled night air was not as comfortable as the accommodations that they were used to but they didn’t even notice. They were on a sacred quest.

A dream overtook them simultaneously. They each saw fantastic images of huge rectangular pyramids and rude noises all around this strange dreamland. Yet there, over on a strange camel-like structure, they saw a star shining in all its green tackiness. Could this be the sign from God they had been praying for? A dream of horrible images and unreal stars to guide them on their way? When they awakened, there in the night sky was a new real star. Relief flooded their beings and westward they proceeded.

I have been writing all my life but for the most part, it has been a secret. My parents did not believe writing was a good way to earn money so I hid my poems. Then one day, I wanted to comment on an essay that a friend had written and found myself with a blog. That quiet whisper inside said, "You can write your poetry and no one will ever know.". I knew nothing of followers and the like at that time. So, here I am trying to learn my craft and enjoying every moment of it. My personal details are, I'm 57, married for 39 years, have one grown son who is God's gift to us and last but not least at all, I'm a Baha'i which basically means that I love all humanity.

  1. again, a very nice contrast. it kind of shatters the old birth of Christ scenario with the three wise men. like you say, they were probably Zoroastrian priests, well versed in astrology. and it has been argued that Christ was probably born in either the spring or fall, due to shepherds tending their flocks, which really isn’t done I the winter time.
